Holiday/Festive activities for team building!

End of year work parties are a workplace tradition that almost every person looks forward to. Prior to the pandemic, some of the parties included activities such as carol karaoke nights, office decorating, gift exchanging and other festive activities for everyone to enjoy.

Nowadays, many employees worldwide are forced to work from home, where everyone is required to attend meetings and events via video conferencing tools such as Zoom, Microsoft Teams or Google meet. The work from home scenario has resulted in holiday parties also being hosted virtually.  What are some of the virtual party activities that can be enjoyed?

Christmas/Holiday themed card crafting:

One of the most popular gifts during the holidays, Christmas Cards have been one of the most popular go-to gifts that one can buy for the holiday season. Christmas themed card crafting activity can be a fun and exciting activity for you and the team to do during your holiday party. Have your team prepare materials such as colored/art papers, glue, stickers, etc. then, give your team 30 mins to create their unique Christmas card. Choose 3 of the cards then decide the winner of the game!  Before the activity starts, prepare prizes for the top 3 contestants as this encourages greater engagement and fosters a healthy competitive spirit for the party.

Christmas Carol Karaoke

Christmas Carols have been around for the longest time and caroling has been a tradition of many communities for decades. Meanwhile, karaoke has become one of the most popular parts of parties and events. Mixing the two can create an engaging and fun activity for participants to enjoy. Let people sing their hearts out (whether in tune or not), laugh and enjoy the moment as the spirit of the holidays spreads throughout the party!

Ugly Sweater fashion Show

Ugly sweaters are now (somewhat) fashionable.  Wearing an ugly sweater has been a trend in recent years and are now often seen at Christmas-related occasions. Have participants wear ugly sweaters or let their creative juices flow and allow them to  create their own sweaters. Have a mini fashion show by having the participants pose in front of the camera,  pick the top 3 finalists and then crown the winner of the fashion show! Don’t forget to reward the top 3 participants for their efforts!

Christmas themed Bingo

What’s more fun than Bingo? Christmas themed bingo! A Christmas-themed bingo brings the fun of traditional bingo with a hint of Christmas Spirit. Ready your cards and may the luck be ever in your favour!

Holiday Themed bring me

“Bring me” is a game where the games’ host asks the participants to bring them a certain item and the fastest one to present the item wins! Prepare a list with items that are Christmas related (e.g Christmas Socks, Candycane, etc.) then make the participants grab these items one by one.  For example, “bring me a red christmas sock” and the first person to bring a red sock either gains a point or wins a prize!

Conclusion

Christmas parties should always be celebrated with joy and laughter. Though we are in a pandemic and in a Work From Home setup, we still should celebrate Christmas with joy and laughter in our hearts. Happy holidays everyone! From, W Digital Solutions.
